Jackrabbit Track Georgia, established in North Gwinnett County, Georgia, in 2008 by Andre Al-Ghani, has emerged as a prominent athletic institution for young athletes in the region. Recognizing the absence of a dedicated youth track and field program in Buford, Lawrenceville, Suwanee, Duluth, Dacula, and Norcross, Al-Ghani founded the team from an indoor flag football team known as the Jackrabbits, which serves as the mascot of his alma mater, Long Beach Poly High School.
Over the past decade, Jackrabbit Track Georgia has evolved into one of the most esteemed and competitive youth track and field programs in the nation, serving boys and girls aged 7 to 18. The program’s success is evident in its remarkable achievements, including sending over 85 student-athletes to college on athletic scholarships to prestigious institutions such as the University of Georgia, Clemson, Duke University, Georgia Tech, University of Southern California, Alabama State, North Carolina A&T, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Syracuse, and Winthrop University, among others.
As a cohesive unit, Jackrabbit Track Georgia has shattered 22 National Records and amassed over 100 National Champions, while countless All Americans have emerged from its ranks. The program’s prowess has been showcased at prestigious meets such as the USATF and AAU Junior Olympics, Nike, New Balance, and Adidas Nationals.
Former Jackrabbit athletes have accomplished remarkable feats, competing in esteemed events such as the Olympics, the United States World Championships, Team USA U20, the National Football League (NFL), the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the NCAA National Indoor/Outdoor Championships. Notable Jackrabbit alumni include Jalen Virgil, Erin Marsh, Jasmine Jones, Isiah Bond, Kimberly Harris, Sydney Harris, Gabriel Ervin, Eddrick Houston, Devin Williams, Jaiden Patterson, Chandler Jordan, Ervin Pearson, and Sion James. Jackrabbit has also collaborated with other athletes in development, including Brandon Marsh, Bella Ragone, and Cannon Gouldin.
Jackrabbit Track Georgia boasts a coaching staff comprising both male and female individuals who not only mentor and hold student athletes accountable but also serve as role models themselves. Our staff firmly believes that it is the student athlete who has contributed to the program’s success. The foundation and culture of the program have been established by their unwavering commitment to the sport of track and field and their academic pursuits.
