Coach Ervin Pearson is a USA Track & Field (USATF) Certified Coach having successfully completed requirements within the USATF Coaching Education Program. The program is certified by the National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE) and emphasizes fundamentals, rules, safety/risk management, and instruction techniques. He has shared his sports science education and event-specific instruction with the Jackrabbit Track Club in the areas of jumps, sprints, and mid-distance since 2014. His son (Ervin Bryce Pearson III AKA Flash) is a 3-time Junior Olympian, 4x100m Silver medalist, 4x400m Gold medalist & Junior Olympic Record holder.
Coach Erv utilizes his 12+ year’s professional consulting and training experience with a technically detailed consultative-coaching approach. Prior to his professional career, he performed studies in Kinesiology (Hampton University) and Osteopathic Medicine (Eastern Michigan University). Equally beneficial to his coaching role, is his past experience as an athlete (Football, Track & Field), as well as his acquired knowledge in health, nutrition, physical fitness, and personal training.
Coach Erv is a dynamic individual who contributes to Jackrabbit Track in immeasurable ways both on and off the track. His “inspector gadget” preparedness and sociable nature, is a result of his military upbringing and it enables him to relate to people on all levels and ages, and he has proven to be a great role model for our young Jackrabbit athletes.
