Coach Knight graduated high school from Wolmer's Boys School in Jamaica in 1987. Attended Clemson University on a track and field scholarship and was a two time All American for the Tigers between 1989-2003. Represented Jamaica at both the Junior and Senior levels in track and field.

Coach Knight also competed in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games for Team Jamaica in the 110 Hurdles.
